Madina Nakashima, born in Pavlodar, Kazakhstan, was adopted and moved to the United States in 1996. She moved to the DC area a couple of years after she received her BFA from the Maryland Institute College Of Art in May of 2018. 

Her art practice includes painting, filmmaking, and post-production sound editing and design. 

Her work has been shown on MICA's campus, at Baltimore's "Light City" festival, at the Windup Space in Baltimore, and in Silver Spring at the 48 Hour Film Project screening, hosted by the AFI Silver Theater.
